“What you get by achieving your goals is not as important as what you become by achieving your goals.” —Henry David Thoreau

Alright Alright, I admit my Monday was definitely on the slower side this week! I read on Twitter that the average person is only productive for 3.5 hours on Mondays. Pretty crazy to think about! Monday gets a pretty bad wrap but its the beginning of a new week - new opportunity - new chance to start over, or continue working hard depending where you might be in your journey!

I had such a busy & exciting weekend in Bar Harbor that it had me waking up wanting the weekend... ALREADY! We spend so much time wishing and hoping for things to happen in our lives that we miss out on so much right in front of us in the present moment! Part of growing up is learning to stop wishing/ wanting everything those around you have and to start appreciating what you have!

I have these moments of clarity all the time and Monday I had it while walking my 5.2 mile loop. I figured walking would be good to losen up my hiking muscles for this weekend!

Tuesday was an early morning for Cyn and I. We were up at 4 and both had a tough time falling back asleep! I decided what better way to start the day than with some hot yoga at GPY! My body definitely needed it!

I had a crazy busy day and after work Cyn & I packed up the car to leave Wednesday after work to Waterville for the night! I picked up a yummy treat while I was out picking up last minute stuff! Yum! Smiling Hill is my favorite but I must admit I was NOT disappointed!

Wednesday morning felt like fall. The crisp air made me feel like it was soccer season! I headed out for a beautiful run to get the day started!

We had a beautiful afternoon for a drive! After work Cyn and I headed to Waterville for the night!

We spent the night playing with Cameron!

We even went to ice cream to celebrate Craig's Birthday!

Wow! Happy 1st day of August and Happy 29th Birthday to one of my best friends Meg Myles! I'm sorry we couldn't be around to top last years bday with you but we will definitely be partying soon! I put together a few pictures over the last year! We love you and are so lucky to have you in our lives! We LOVE you!

Cyn and I woke up early to continue our trek to Katahdin for the next 4 days! I was so excited to get away from social media, emails and just completely engaged in Family time! :)

We got to our Cabin around 1:30 and met up with my parents!

We unpacked and went for a canoe!

It was absolutely gorgeous! We got back made dinner and Mik and Brayton arrived! We spent the night relaxing outside with the sky filled with stars! Such a great start to our trip!

Mom even did some yoga!

Friday we woke up and the celebration began! We didn't let the rain ruin our fun! We surprised my Mom with a bunch of gifts to celebrate her 50th Birthday!

We even went for a swim in the rain! It finally cleared up in the afternoon and we went out for a canoe and hike to gear up for Saturdays hike!

Saturday morning we woke up and saw a gorgeous sunrise!

All 6 of us at the start!

We headed up the Hunt Trail to the Summit of Mt. Katahdin.

About a mile in we were still ALL smiles!

Still smiling before the storm hit! 3 very happy couples! :)

We made it to the top! The one and only picture we took due to the rain/wind/hail!

After 12 hours of climbing through the rain, hail and wind we made it back to the cabin! We were all exhausted but felt extremely strong and accomplished! Definitely a weekend none of us will ever forget! We've become a closer family because of the experience and I couldn't feel anymore blessed to have the family and support system that I do! They say a family who works out together, stays together! :)

"The size of your success is measured by the strength of your desire; the size of your dream; and how you handle disappointment along the way."

I'm staring a Friday Photo Dump like many other bloggers do! But I am going to make it a Sunday Photo Dump so I can show you the highlights of my weekend!

Monday I took a 3 mile walk in Cape Elizabeth on part of the Beach to Beacon trail! It was nice to do a walk the day after the triathlon!

It was a beautiful walk! Remember walking is just as good as running. Running burns significantly more calories because your body is working much harder, but low intensity activities such as walking tend to focus more on burning fat than anything else!

After work Cyn and I made pizza on the grill! It was delicious! If you've never done it I suggest you try it!

Tuesday I went to 6 AM hot yoga to at Greener Postures Yoga Studio! It is a great workout and definitely relieves a lot of my back pain! It's a great opportunity to stretch and increase your body's flexibility! It's also a great place to sweat out anything you might not want to be holding onto!

After work we went over to EMS to get some of our hiking gear for KATAHDIN next week! My mom is turning the big 5-0, and for her birthday we are hiking Mt. Katahdin as a family!

Wednesday my sister and I went for a bike ride around Cape Elizabeth! I never thought I would love biking as much as I do! It's such a great workout and doesn't put too much pressure on your joints! I felt like a million bucks after our ride!

I love this Biking app! It's called Road Bike! I definitely recommend it!

After work Cyn and I went to Jonathon Douglas Hair Salon & Spa for Facials! I cannot remember the last time I took the time to do something like this for myself. We both left wishing we had the money to do something to pamper ourselves at least once a month! (Someday! Right? - I sure hope so)

It's important to take care of you body and sometimes we forget to listen when we are in pain or sick that some relaxation and pampering might be the perfect remedy!

We came home and Cyn made delicious Steak Bombs (okay so I know my diet hasn't been on the healthy side this week, but I did go 3 weeks without sweets and being a health nut leading up to my races! - it's all moderation)

We took a post dinner family walk (Cyn, Bela & I) under the cotton candy sky!

Thursday morning felt like fall! I absolutely love running outside when the air is crisp! I got in a nice little run before work!

Another app I love! The Nike Running App! It is amazing! As you're running it tells you your splits!

After we got home from work we took Bela for a nice long walk she was so tired while we ate dinner she was snoring!

At 6:30 we decided the night was still young and why not go to the movies to see The Heat! I'm not a huge movie theater person (1. I think it's way too expensive 2. I'd rather wait to watch it on red box at home and 3. It means you might see people you don't want to) needless to say we threw on sweats and headed out!

Definitely a must see! So funny! Just what I needed to end the night with some good laughs!

Friday I woke up not feeling all that great but I took it easy because we've had plans to go to Bar Harbor for the weekend for sometime now.

After resting for a few hours in the car we finally arrived to our hotel and took a trolley to Downtown Bar Harbor! We did some window shopping and grabbed appetizers and drinks at Rupununi's!

We continued in and out of stores while it rained down on us! We posed in front of our "wannabe" yachts!

We stopped for one more drink before heading back to our hotel room as we were all quite exhausted!

Saturday morning we all got up and were headed to Acadia National Park by 9:30 AM!

We hiked Jordon Pond 3.4 mile loop!

Then went to Thunder Hole for high tide!

And to the top of Cadillac Mountain for the Sunset!

Sunday morning we got up, checked out of the hotel and headed downtown Bar Harbor for a few hours to shop around! We finally made our way home and I made a few collages to sum up our trip!

On our way home we stopped in Waterville to see Jenny, Craig and Cameron!

Cameron had to show Grammy his new bed!

Being silly with Auntie!

He is so handsome!

We finished our journey home to Bela! She was so happy to see us she was crying (whimpering) for 10 minutes after we got home!

We quickly unpacked and went to visit my parents for dinner and to show them pictures from our trip! We also got to make one last list for Katahdin as we leave Wednesday night to hopefully hike on Friday for my Mom's 50th Birthday! It will be a blast!

I hope everyone had a great weekend and is gearing up for a fun filled week! Can you believe it's already August this week? Where has the summer gone? Have you reached your summer goals? There is still time! Keep working hard and you'll get there!
